"A coloro che hanno rubato la mia poesia"
Pare che dopo una notte passata con una prostituta, Charles Bukowski al risveglio si sia trovato derubato. Avrebbe preferito che lei prendesse soldi o altro, persino il suo braccio...invece lei ha portato via 12 dei suoi poemi.
"Prendetemi tutto ma non la mia poesia" dice il poeta.

Ecco questo e' quello che sentiamo, quando qualcuno e' venuto a prendere a casa nostra, e ci ha derubato della parte piu' poetica di noi, quella che creava, quella difficile da rimpiazzare, frutto del nostro spirito, sentimento e intelletto piu' sinceri.
Il cuore non si da' a qualcuno, il cuore e' un posto che si abita, in cui si fa spazio per l'altro. Alcuni trovano il posto ricco e vengono per prendere via qualcosa, capendone la specialita', tenerla per se', ma senza saperne che farsene (infatti, che se ne fara' poi la prostituta di quei poemi?)
Si dice Bukowski la poesia e' cosa rara...
Dio ha fatto molti poeti... ma c'e' poca poesia.
Gia', nemmeno l'essere poeti, cioe' inclini alla creazione, garantisce di fare poesia. Perche' forse la poesia ha bisogno di tutto un processo, una sincerita' fino in fondo per essere tale e condivisibile.

twelve poems gone and I don't keep carbons and you have
my paintings too, my best ones; its stifling:
are you trying to crush me out like the rest of them?
why didn't you take my money? they usually do

next time take my left arm or a fifty
but not my poems:
I'm not Shakespeare
but sometime simply
there won't be any more, abstract or otherwise;
there'll always be mony and whores and drunkards
down to the last bomb,
but as God said,
crossing his legs,
I see where I have made plenty of poets
but not so very much
poetry.
